Our video camera inspection service eliminates guessing. It assists our trained professionals to determine the condition of your sewer line and what your best options are to solve your sewer line backup problems.
We recommend video camera inspections because there are a number of reasons that can cause your line to back up. We can determine if it is debris, such as household soaps, sand, grease, or roots, which are the usual reasons for your lines to back up. It can also show if it is damage from other serious factors which may have occured. Below is a list of the more serious sewer line problems we can see with a video camera inspection.
Here is a listing of some of the more serious types of problems that Dennis Diffley & Sons Inc. can uncover for you by using our video camera inspection services to view the inside of your sewer lines.
Tree Roots are a major source of sewer problems, little cracks in the pipe sections allow the tree roots to enter the sewer line. Once in the line the roots grow, until the pipe continues to crack and eventually break requiring repair. At the start of root intrusion it can be rooted out and cleared with regular maintenance. However once the root stem becomes big enough it can separate the pipe which will then need repair. A quick video camera inspection of the sewer line will assess the condition of the line.
Misaligned Pipe Many older sewer pipe sections can loosen and move from improper installation methods, or root intrusion causing the pipe to separate, resulting in an offset in the piping to occur. Solid waste cannot pass by the offset, and waste water will end up seeping into the surrounding soil, causing the pipe to settle even more and eventual breaking the flow and function of the piping system.
Belly in Pipe - a belly in the pipe is a low spot or sagging area in the pipe and these low areas collect water and solid waste, causing poor flow through the pipe which can lead to back-up and damage to the pipe as it sags further.
Pipe Collapse:complete pipe collapse can occur if a lot of roots intrude into the pipe or substantial soil settlement occurs around the area due to sagging or a belly in the pipe, requiring excavation and replacment of the sewer line.
Debris: Occasionally debris such as ocurs form rusting corrosion or other items entered into the sewer line can become lodged in the line, preventing the flow of waste through the pipe.
